In 2019 Abbey Gate Locksmiths started a service offering mobile key cutting for just £1.00 for the elderly and disabled in rural areas along the A4.

Terms of service

• The service is avalable between 8.00AM and 9.00AM Monday to Friday and requires an appointment that must be made 24 hours in advance.
• Please note the service is only for common, low security keys. including ERA, TSS and budget Yale. High security cylinders including Ultion and Brisant are not included. Should you have any questions you can call us prior to making your appointment free of charge.

The idea came about when we were called out to cut keys for a customer from Woolhampton who was unable to travel to ether Reading, Thatcham or Newbury.

This service covers the villages of Bucklebury, Chapel Row, Bradfield, Midgham and Beenham found north of the A4. Mobile key cutting also covers villages south of the A4 including Aldermaston, Padworth, Ufton Nervet, Sulhamstead, Burghfield and Mortimer.

The service between Reading and Newbury became so popular that in February 2020 we began to offer the same service in South Oxfordshire.

The South Oxfordshire service is avalable in Mapledurham, Trench Green, Chazey Heath, Tokers Green and Kidmore End.
