Access control

Abbey Gate provide a wide range of Access control solutions for home and business. We have the Paxton and CDVI installed at our Reading showroom and can provide a full demonstration, including the software. Allowing you a unique opportunity to see the system in action.

Over view

Abbey Gates locksmiths most popular access control solution for the commercial market is Paxton Net2.

The system allows you to run the security of your building directly from your PC. It lets you have up to 3000 doors and 50,000 users. Applications you can use includes:

Add and remove users instantly buy issuing cards, fobs, or codes. All codes, cards and fobs can also be removed and changed straight away.
Events allows you to see what card/fob has been used on different doors.
Access times and doors can be restricted according to access rights.

Key pads

Paxton Cards/fob Readers and key pads are used to open doors using electronic releases and maglocks. Communication to the server is provided by a Net2 plus controller.

Anti vandal and external reader are also available

For standalone solutions we use Air bridges and Net 2 PAXLocks.

The standalone locks allow wireless access control on doors that can be connected to the site’s software. This greatly cuts down on wiring requirements.

The PAXLock can also be integrated with a Master key system supplied and produced by Abbey Gate. This gives you the option of both electronic and mechanical operation.

The system can also be integrated with other security products including CCTV and entry phones.

Off line access control

Abbey Gate also offer offline solutions produced by both Paxton and CDVI. Offline solutions are cost effective and a great way to secure doors that do not require more.

Both online and offline entry phone systems together with CCTV. Entry phones allow the user to see and speak to visitors before granting them access.

The lock is operated using your smart phone, but also comes complete with aUltion cylinder giving you the option to use a key.

Alarm systems

Hard wired and wireless alarms for both commercial and domestic customers. The systems can be supplied with a range of accessories to meet the customers needs. We will also take over existing alarm systems from other company’s (including Smiths Security services and ABC).

CCTV is an ideal way of keeping a visual record of who has been entering your property. As well as recording the images can be viewed live on a VDU or by phone.

Security lights and lighting

Abbey Gate will supply and fit a wide range of security light solutions for domestic and commercial use. When we install lights we make sure they are positioned in the correct locations to get the best results. However lights are not always the best idea.

Lights are often recommended by security and locksmith companies as an option that will deter intruders. But before you commit to having them you need to ask yourself some questions.

Will anyone be around to see them activated?
Will anyone take any notice?
Could an intruder use the light at night to help them break in?
Could the lights be set off for reasons other than intruders? For example wild life, traffic or foot paths.

Before considering security lights we recommend investing in high security locks and cylinders. These options are cheaper and help stop burglars actually breaking in. There is also much more evidence, backed by studies and statistics, to prove the advantage of high security locks.

To date there is very little evidence to back up the claim it reduces crime. The evidence that does exist is largely based on commercial properties with 24 hour manned security. Unfortunately this makes the figures given to the police misleading and is also used by some locksmiths as a sales tool.

Other products on offer

Mosquito sound blast uses a high-pitched sound to ward off would be loiterers. The sound can only be herd by teenagers and youths and is a proven method of reducing vandalism and graffiti.
Personal attack alarms are small alarms that can be carried in person, if the customer sets off the alarm it emits a loud alarm that will ward off the attacker and alert other members of the public.
