Electric Window Openers

Abbey Gate provides security solutions and expert advice for everything relating to windows and doors. We recently installed electronic window openers for a customer in Reading, Berkshire. Our locksmith Ben from Newbury wrote a brief summary of how the winders are fitted.

“An electric window opener can allow a customer to open the window without having to interact with the window directly. This allows customers who may be disabled or have difficulty reaching the windows to operate them from a switch in a suitable and ergonomic location near the windows.

Recently myself and Maidenhead engineer Charlie fitted two Chain Actuators, positioned vertically on a French Casement Window. We ran the cables from the Actuators up to the top of the window bay and along the top of the window frame. From here the cables were run along the ceiling and down the wall into two separate switches for the left and right opening windows. The cables were encased in white trunking to protect them from damage. The power for the motors is provided from a regular domestic plug and socket.
