Bollards are a fantastic way of controlling traffic and access to vehicles. Keeping unwanted visitors out of industrial areas and private roads help to prevent break ins and serious damage. Sometimes however things can go wrong. In 2019 a lorry clipped a bollard and the damage prevented it from lowering. Worse still the road was on a one way system at an industrial estate in Reading, Berkshire. Thankfully we were on hand to solve the problem.
Abbey Gate tries to have high security bollards in stock and on the day we had one. Our locksmiths Charlie and Alexander attended and using our powerful concrete breaker began to remove the bollard. Shortly after Stephen and Ben arrived with the replacement.
Once free all four lifted the bollard clear and lowered the replacement into the hole. With the heavy lifting now complete Stephen and Ben left for other jobs. Meanwhile Alex and Charlie concreted in the new bollard. Within one morning a major problem was solved.
