Access control system fitted in Wiltshire

Abbey Gate recently sent a locksmith to install an entry system to a number of doors at a school in Wiltshire. Our engineer wrote down a brief summary of the work done.

“The access control system we recently installed uses a weatherproof keypad entrance system from the outside which allows for easy and secure access. The door itself is held locked using a mag lock at the top of the door.”

From the inside you can exit via a Green (Press to Exit) button. In the case of an emergency there is a Green (Emergency Door Release) box that will break the magnetic connection and allow the door to remain open in emergencies until reset properly using a reset key.”

“To connect the keypad to the 12 volt (V) control box  I drilled a very small hole through the wall that the cable can be fed through. This cable is completely out of site.

Where the cable is run to the magnet from the inside, plastic trunking is used to keep the cables out of sight and reach. For the exit button and Emergency door release we run the cables in between the plaster board and walls. If possible cables are run behind walls, above a suspended ceiling or under the floor. Once all the cables are run we wire up the components using the manufacturer’s specifications”

Alongside access control we supply and fit other electronic security solutions including Alarm systems, lighting, CCTV. For a full list please click here. We also repair minor issues with existing systems, please contact us for more information.
